2025 Annual Meeting: At the June 29 annual meeting, our Bylaws revision was approved by more than 2/3 majority and the membership and board believes this is a positive step in lake preservation and safety. The position of the board and membership continues to support the deed restrictions and access wording for the LLCA owned landing while continuing to provide conditions of use through the locked gate security system approved by the membership a number of years ago. A copy of the revised bylaws can be found here:

Bridge Letter Campaign : At the 2025 Annual Meeting an update was provided regarding the FEMA grant work from the Town of Tryon for the dam which was submitted in November 2024. However, LLCA President Kevin Lynch reminded everyone of the importance that we continue to reach out to coordinate these efforts with SC for the bridge and the value that members reach out to SC legislatures, particularly Tom Corbin, so that funding for the bridge can be secured simultaneously. The Town of Tryon will be working to secure funding for the dam but it is hoped they will coordinate any efforts for repair or replacement with SCDOT. The Board has reached out to Senator Corbin and Greenville County Representative Joey Russo. However, we need to be heard! Please see an attached sample fillable PDF letter below that you may download, then print and mail to Senator Tom Corbin in efforts that he hear our collective voices. (The letter DOES NOT contain the fillable fields unless you download it. Don't just open the file below and print, select download first.)
LLCA APPROVES PHASE ONE DREDGING PROJECT: The Environmental Committee recommended with Board approval that the membership approve a motion to dredge at the mouth of Vaughn's Creek to slow down silt into the third basin as it impacts the use of the LLCA owned landing. Therefore, the membership was sent a proxy vote by email on January 15, 2025 per our Bylaws. The motion carried by majority vote to proceed with this project, permitted through the Town of Tryon, spending up to the approved $5,000 per the motion. The work has been completed for this phase.
THE CARP FUND
About every other year, Lake Lanier is stocked from donations managed by the LLCA with sterilized triploid grass carp to help control invasive aquatic weeds. The LLCA Carp Fund purchased 1350 carp and released them November 2017 at a cost of $13,500. Most recently, 650 carp were added in March 2024. We urge residents to share in this effort by making a contribution annually. Donations of $250 or more receive a plaque for your dock or boathouse. Next Carp release will be Fall of 2026.

Donate to the Carp or Dredging Fund: At the 2024 Annual Meeting, the membership approved a Dredging Fund to begin saving money for dredging project TBA around the LLCA Landing in efforts to maintain continued membership lake boating access.
